Capital adds punch
Capital BNI has added punch to the chapter by recruiting the UK’s only practising female boxing ref!
Personal trainer Anne Elliot not only referees fights, but also offers boxing as a great way for just about anyone to get fit.
“Boxing really is an all-over work-out,” she says. “Whatever you age or level of fitness, it gets your heart working harder, builds your stamina and tones just about every muscle you have.”
But Anne offers much more than a few rounds in the ring. Her personal training approach focuses on fitness and weight loss, especially for those of us who hate going to the gym.
“Some people really love going to the gym,” she says. “But many of us really hate it and that can be an obstacle if you want to get fit and lose a few pounds. It doesn’t have to be that way, though. I work with clients in their own homes, at work or at my own base and we focus on what they want to achieve – whether it is getting into trim for the summer beach holiday, or running the London marathon.”
And Anne has had some spectacular results – not least with herself.
“I was forty before I got fit and lost weight, so I really understand people who think it’s too late to do anything about their spreading waistlines – but I know now that it’s never too late. I dropped a few dress sizes, lost four stone and gained a whole new outlook. And if I can do it, anyone can!”
To show how, Anne has published “It’s not Rocket Science,” a practical guide to losing weight, whilst still eating what you want.
“The book outlines a real diet for a real world. If you want to eat chocolate cake, you can – you just need to do some exercise to use the calories up. This is all about putting you in control, taking decisions for yourself – about your diet, your fitness and your life.”
And it did not take long for Anne to decide to join BNI. “Referrals and personal recommendations are the most powerful business tools around and my business depends on them. BNI is a great way for me to build my business and, because I work with people from all walks of life, I am in a good position to make referrals to my fellow chapter members.”
So far, Anne has proved a knockout for Capital BNI!
